De Caelo - The hen (blu)

On the Murano furrow of the animal representation through glass, traceable since the dawn of the history of the island, Leo De Carlo tells the animal universe through archaic forms made by the expert hand of the master Giovanni Nicola.
Animal figurative representation is perhaps the most recognizable artistic expression of Murano’s glass tradition: the continuous re-interpretation of this universe offers a challenge that many artists have taken up: present an Ark of Noah capable of expressing a different vision from what was done in the past.
Played all on the anti-realistic effect of mirroring on glass, the CREATIO collection consists of 3 chapters: the animals of the sky (de Caelo), the earth (Terrae) and the sea (Maris). The first chapter, the sky creatures, consists of 6 different forms of birds.
